Wing Kwong Gymnasium (榮光健身學院) was the predecessor of Wing Kwong Tai Chi Academy (榮光太極健身學會) . It was established by Master Cheng Wing Kwong (鄭榮光1903 – 1967), a disciple of Wu Jianquan (吳鑑泉1870 – 1942) who was the grand master and founder of the Wu Style Tai Chi. More information...

Wing Kwong Tai Chi Academy(UK) - Officially Registered

The new Wing Kwong branch has been officially registered as “Wing Kwong Tai Chi Academy UK Community Interest Company” on 15 Aug 2015 at UK. With the same objective as Hong Kong, the Academy UK aims to provide free Tai Chi training for health enhancement, and promote and cultivate public interest in Tai Chi.

The first class will commence on 6 September 2015, Thursdays (from 5:30pm to 7:00pm) and Sundays (from 4:00pm to 6:30pm) at Trinity Sports Centre, Cambridge Street, Manchester, UK.

Interested UK residence are welcome to enroll online.

Currently, there are 3 ways to promote the free Tai Chi class to the public :

The Academy targets at maximum 15 persons per class. Buying insurance for the Academy and the class attendees has been done.

13 - 5 - 2015 Tai Chi Training School in England - Promotion of Tai Chi Culture

Background
Professor W.S. Lau has been actively promoting Tai Chi in Hong Kong. He stayed in Manchester, UK since his retirement. In order to promote Tai Chi in UK, he is planning to set up a Tai Chi training Centre in Manchester this September. Teaching will be free of charge for the first year. The content of training will emphasis on health enhancement rather than fighting techniques. To encourage more UK residence to participate, it is planned that no fees would be paid by the participants for the first year. At present, there is no such free training institutes exist in Manchester area. It is therefore believed that the project of promoting Tai Chi in UK will be successful.

Tai Chi Training Class in England

Wing Kwong Tai Chi Academy is a non-profit making organisation. Up to now, training venues under the name of Wing Kwong exist in Hong Kong, Canada and Germany. It is intended to establish a branch in Manchester, UK in September this year.

Funds to be Raised

It is hoped that through Fund4Ip on-line donation website, $40,000 can be raised. The fund is mainly used for hiring of training venue, registration fee for the non-profit training Academy, Accountant and Lawyer fees, and transportation allowances for the Trainers. http://fund4ip.com/fund4ip/index.php?op=proj&id=67

1 - 2015 Our overseas member, Mr. Markus Wagner, intended to establish a Wu Style Taijiquan Club in Marburg, Germany. To honour Master Cheng Wing Kwong, an agreement has been obtained from our Honorary President, Mr. Peter Cheng, to name the club as "Wing Kwong Tai Chi and Qigong Club" (In German: "Wing Kwong Tai Chi und Qigong Verein"). The Club is in the process of registration with the local Government. It is foreseen that there will be close cooperation between the German and Hong Kong Clubs.

A total of 62 guests joined the dinner. Apart from the VIPs performing their styles of Tai Chi Chuan, various senior members and disciples were paired up for specific items implying passing the torch to next generation for the diamond celebration.
